I am planning to apply for IMI. I have a query related to the weight age given for academic background. Could you please elaborate on the criteria. Like what are the marks allocation criteria for 10th,12th and Graduation Marks as well as work ex. (i.e. the percentage range wise marks allocation for each class.) This will help me evaluate my profile.

    • Hi Swarnim,

      Thanks for your query.

Selection at IMI is a two step process. The first step involves short-listing of applicants for the second round. This short-listing is based on CAT percentiles, the overall cut-off last year was 95 percentile subject to meeting different sectional cut-offs for the three sections of CAT.

In the second round last year candidates wrote an essay, participated in a group discussion and underwent a personal interview. The final selection was based on a combination of their performance in this second round, their past academic record and work experience. CAT scores were not considered in the final selection but used only for short-listing applicants for the second round. The weightages given last year to the different final selection criteria were as follows:

      Essay: 10%
      Group Discussion: 10%
      Personal Interview: 30%
      10th marks: 10%
      12th marks: 10%
      Graduation marks: 20%
      Work Experience: 10%

A similar process is likely to be followed this year although it is possible some adjustments may be made.

      Good luck.

      With best regards,
      Dr Himadri Das

I wish to apply for the fulltime course offered by your institution. The link provided for applying online is not working properly and when the web page loads completely the links provided do not work.

I have tried using the link on firefox, opera and IE.

    Kindly look into the issue.
